FDNY Smoke Scrubber Test Results
FDNY has completed testing of a new state-of-the-art smoke scrubber system specially designed by Flashover Systems for Class "A" type flashover training simulators. Tests showed that up to 98% of the smoke from the simulator was captured by the smoke hood for scrubbing. High temperatures in the stack incinerated 85% of the smoke passing through the system. The result was a significant reduction in the severity and amount of smoke emitted.
